Kate Salinger
Kate Salinger (*1995 in Australia) lives and works in Zurich, Switzerland.
She discovered her passion for painting at an early age and found her most authentic medium in oil paint. What fascinates her is its shapeable depth, the richness of its pigments, and the way it allows emotions and movements to unfold - giving time and space for forms to breathe.
Her artistic language is deeply influenced by dance. What was once her physical expression now finds its resonance on the canvas: painting becomes choreography, each brushstroke a gesture in space. During a long period of illness, art became not only her form of expression but also a source of healing and a path back to life. This experience continues to shape her artistic vision - creating works that bring calm and clarity, offering spaces where viewers can lose and rediscover themselves.
Color lies at the heart of her artistic expression, each shade chosen with care and imbued with emotion. Her paintings celebrate the beauty of simplicity and the ever-changing flow of life. Through sweeping, graceful movements, her works reflect the twists and turns we all encounter – from quiet shifts to profound challenges – and create a sense of connection along the way.
