Art Club + Projects

Creative engagement grounded in essential practices.

Inspiring Creativity, Sustainability, and Digital Skills

Our programme blends creativity with sustainability — encouraging young creatives to explore the endless possibilities of nature and recycled materials. Across our sessions, students will transform foraged treasures into natural dyes, craft pottery and paper, and upcycle textiles into unique, meaningful artworks. Together, we’ll nurture curiosity, grow environmental awareness, and foster artistic development — all while celebrating the beauty of reusing and repurposing.

As students progress through the modules, they’ll gain a deeper appreciation for nature as a creative resource, learn to recycle and repurpose materials into significant, lasting artworks, and build practical skills in natural dyeing, pottery, papermaking, and textile crafting. They’ll also collaborate on a final showcase, bringing together everything they’ve created.

Creative Futures

Art, Nature & Sustainability

At Inspiring Design, young creatives are invited to explore the magic of making—one session at a time. Our hands-on workshops fuse sustainability with artistry, guiding tamariki through activities like natural dyeing, pottery, paper-making, and textile upcycling. Whether they join us for a single workshop or dive into them all, each session offers a chance to create with purpose, learn new skills, and connect with nature in a whole new way.

  • Perfect for curious kids aged 8–14 who love to create, tinker, and explore. Whether they’re into art, nature, or just like making things with their hands, our workshops offer a fun, hands-on experience where imagination leads the way. No experience needed—just bring your creativity!

What’s involved?

  • A new way to tell stories visually

They’ll discover how storytelling doesn’t require high-end gear or complex editing—just curiosity, creativity, and a fresh perspective on the world around them.

  • A deeper appreciation for nature and creative reuse

From foraging for natural materials to transforming “waste” into wonder, students will see how the environment can be both a muse and a resource.

  • Their own handmade paper that can be planted and grown

Students will make plantable paper embedded with seeds—blending creative craft with ecological awareness. Once their artwork is complete, it can be placed in soil, watered, and transformed into a living piece of nature.

  • Practical skills in natural dyeing, pottery, paper-making, and textile upcycling

They’ll experiment with plant-based dyes, shape clay with their hands, turn old fabrics into something new, and make their own paper from scratch—gaining confidence through tactile, process-based learning.

  • A fun, collaborative experience that sparks creativity and connection

Our sessions are more than just making art—they're about working together, sharing ideas, and finding joy in the process.

The year at a glance

A seasonal journey of creativity, nature, and sustainable artmaking.

Term 1: Exploring Nature’s Colours
Students forage for flowers, leaves, and food scraps to create natural dyes and pigments. They’ll also plant wildflowers to use in future projects—learning about sustainability and the colours of the earth.

Term 2: Pottery & Paper
We get hands-on with clay and recycled paper. Students collect natural clay and turn it into pottery, then make handmade paper pressed with flowers they’ve grown.

Term 3: Textile Creations
Using rescued fabrics, students turn old textiles into canvases. They’ll apply natural dyes and mixed media techniques to create unique, upcycled artwork.

Term 4: Collaborative Showpiece
In groups, students combine everything they’ve learned to create final pieces for a special showcase—celebrating creativity, teamwork, and their year of sustainable making.
